Younghusband rescues Azkals as India, Vietnam win in Asian Cup qualifying

Coach Thomas Dooley endured a tense night as Philippines had to twice come from behind.

The Younghusband brothers rescued a point as Philippines had to come from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Yemen in a key Asian Cup 2019 qualifier.

The result keeps the Philippines top of Group F, two points ahead of Yemen, and looking good for a place in the United Arab Emirates in 2019. However, Thomas Dooley's side will still be disappointed not to have beaten the country 19 places below them in the latest FIFA rankings.

Ong Kim Swee says getting results is more important than playing "pretty" football, as the unbeaten Malaysians look ahead to Saturday's semifinals in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysia under-22 coach saw his side overcome Laos 3-1 on Wednesday night to finish as Group A champions. A double from Jafri Firdaus Chew and an Adib Zainuddin strike gave them a fourth win in four matches in the men's football competition.

In their semifinal on Saturday, the host nation will play...

Malaysia won't suffer SEA Games slip up vs. minnows Laos - Kumaahran

Jason Dasey and John Wilkinson recap Malaysia's 3-1 win over Myanmar which has them poised to win Group A at the SEA Games.

Despite booking a semifinals berth at the Southeast (SEA) Asian Games with a perfect record, Malaysia will not take things lightly against Laos on Wednesday night as they bid to finish as Group A champions.

The hosts have been dominant, with wins over Brunei (2-1), Singapore (2-1) and Myanmar (3-1). They are overwhelming favourites to take home another three points at Shah Alam Stadium to seal top spot.

But striker S. Kumaahran warned his teammates of any complacency that may affect their winning...
