Ayoub El Kaabi fires Morocco into African Nations Championship final

Ayoub El Kaabi struck twice as African Nations Championship hosts Morocco beat Libya 3-1 after extra time to book their place in Sunday's final.

El Kaabi, the tournament top scorer, netted in the 72nd minute when he met substitute Zakaria Hadraf's fine cross with a powerful downward header to beat Mohamed Nashnush, but a horror error from Anas Zniti in the 86th minute gifted Libya an equaliser through Abdulrahman Khalifa to take the tie to extra time.

Barel Mouko the penalty villain as Libya oust Congo

Experienced Congo-Brazzaville goalkeeper Barel Mouko missed the only spotkick of the shootout as Libya won 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw to advance to the African Nations Championship semi finals.

Libya, who advanced as runners-up behind Nigeria in Group C after beating Rwanda at the death in their final group game, took the lead in the 15th minute through Saleh Taher after Mouko parried a cross into his path.

However, Congo responded through Junior Makiesse, when the AC Leopards de Dolisie...

Nigeria beat Equatorial Guinea to top Group C, Libya through

Nigeria beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1 in Agadir to top African Nations Championship Group C and advance to the quarter finals alongside Libya, who struck in second-half stoppage time to take Rwanda's place in the final eight.

Salisu Yusuf's side top the group on seven points after second-half goals from Anthony Okpotu, Dayo Ojo and substitute Rabiu Ali overturned Equatorial Guinea's first-half advantage, while Libya advance alongside them on six points after Elmutasem Abushnaf struck in the 93rd minute.

Libya's Elmaryami aims blame at tired players after Nigeria defeat

Libya coach Omar Mohamed Elmaryami believes fatigue was to blame for the Mediterranean Knights' slump against Nigeria in their second African Nations Championship clash.

The North Africans had been one of the stand-out teams during the first round of matches after easing past Equatorial Guinea with a fine attacking display, but were shorn of energy, dynamism and quality for their showdown with the Super Eagles.

Mohamed Aleyat, so effective in wide areas against Nzalang Nacional, delivered an anonymous...

Libya ease past Equatorial Guinea at CHAN

Libya served a stern warning to their African Nations Championship Group C opponents as two first-half goals from Saleh Taher Saeid and a late strike from Zakaria Alharash saw them ease past Equatorial Guinea in Tanger on Monday.

The 2014 CHAN champions delivered one of the most impressive performances of the tournament so far to assert their title credentials and swat away an Equatoguinean side that was short of quality.
