France to host Wales in friendly at Stade de France in November

Didier Deschamps applauds his France squad, saying it was not easy for Les Bleus to win their World Cup Qualifying group.

Wales will face France in a friendly in Paris next month, the Football Association of Wales announced on Tuesday.

Euro 2016 finalists France secured their place at the 2018 World Cup last week after a difficult qualification campaign.

Chris Coleman's side, meanwhile, missed out on a place in Russia after finishing third in their qualifying group.

The former Fulham boss has yet to announce if he will stay on in the role but has good memories of France, having taken Wales to the semifinals of Euro...

Didier Deschamps set for talks over new contract with France

Didier Deschamps applauds his France squad, saying it was not easy for Les Bleus to win their World Cup Qualifying group.

French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet plans to hold talks with France boss Didier Deschamps about a possible contract extension in the coming weeks.

Deschamps' side successfully qualified for the 2018 World Cup with victory over Belarus on Tuesday night.

Le Graet said he would prefer to have everything sorted well in advance of next summer's tournament as he wants the team's "missions to be clear."

Though Le Graet has not yet raised the topic of an extension with the 48-year-old Deschamps,...

Is Nabil Fekir ready to become the heir to Zinedine Zidane's France throne?

Didier Deschamps applauds his France squad, saying it was not easy for Les Bleus to win their World Cup Qualifying group.

One of the greatest goals scored in Europe so far this season came in August. Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir received the ball near the halfway line and stunned Bordeaux goalkeeper Benoit Costil by sending it into the net with a shot that kept rising and rising. It was a sensational effort that was even more remarkable considering it came from Fekir's weaker right foot.

It was a shot reminiscent of Zinedine Zidane's goal for Bordeaux in 1995 that also came from an outrageous distance off his weaker...

Things for France to fix: Deschamps' tactics, right role for Kylian Mbappe

Steve Nicol explains why France could be done in by increasing pressure from their supporters and the media.
Didier Deschamps applauds his France squad, saying it was not easy for Les Bleus to win their World Cup Qualifying group.

It has been laborious at times, with some very average performances in a group they should have easily bossed and with the feeling that there has been no genuine progress since the Euro 2016 final, but France have eventually qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The most important was to get there and now the hard work starts for Didier Deschamps.

All the current question marks surrounding France are linked to him and his management. The head coach has been criticised these past few months...

Blaise Matuidi unconcerned by France World Cup qualifying struggles

Didier Deschamps applauds his France squad, saying it was not easy for Les Bleus to win their World Cup Qualifying group.

France midfielder Blaise Matuidi has said he is not worried by the team's unconvincing World Cup qualifying campaign, saying they have "huge potential."

Euro 2016 finalists France clinched their place in Russia with a nervy 2-1 win over Belarus in Paris on Tuesday, leaving them four points clear at the top of Group A.

The campaign contained poor performances including a defeat to Sweden and a goalless draw at home to Luxembourg, with France struggling for goals at times despite boasting Antoine...
