Hakim Ziyech scored twice as Morocco defeated Cameroon 2-0 in Casablanca on Friday to take a giant step towards next year's Africa Cup of Nations.

Karl Toko Ekambi was sent off in the second half for the Indomitable Lions, who fell to the first defeat of Clarence Seedorf's brief tenure and their first ever loss to Morocco.

The win moves Morocco up to top spot in Group B, on 10 points, and they'll progress if they avoid a defeat by a three-goal margin in their final qualifier against Malawi in March...

Can Cameroon finally get their hands on the AWCON?

The Indomitable Lionesses are heading into the Africa Women Cup of Nations in fine fettle after demolishing Zambia 7-0 in a friendly on Monday.

However, despite their fine form, it remains to be seen whether Cameroon can make up for years of underachievement and rise to the occasion in Ghana.

They've qualified for all 12 editions of the tournament, and have largely impressed - apart from a group-stage exit in South Africa in 2000 - although they've never actually won the tournament.

Cameroon: Oyongo, Boumal out of Morocco, Brazil clashes

Montpellier defender Ambroise Oyongo has been ruled out of the Cameroon squad to face Morocco in Friday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The full-back, as well as injured midfielder Petrus Boumal, will also miss the international friendly against Brazil on Tuesday.

"Ambroise Oyongo will not play matches against Morocco and Brazil due to a wound on his right knee," read a statement published by the Cameroon FA.

"Petrus Boumal will not be able to take part in the next Indomitable Lions' games because...

Arnaud Djoum makes Cameroon return for Morocco clash

Heart of Midlothian midfielder Arnaud Djoum has been named in Cameroon's squad for the Indomitable Lions' Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco on November 16.

The 29-year-old returns for the first time since appearing in last year's World Cup qualifiers after being summoned by new coach Clarence Seedorf.

Djoum recovered from a six-month injury layoff in August, and will also be a part of the squad that face Brazil in England four days after their showdown with the Atlas Lions.

While Cameroon...

Franck Kom set to be central to Esperance's CAF CL chances

Cameroon midfielder Franck Kom is set to play a key role for Esperance when they meet Al-Ahly on Friday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final.

The midfielder is gearing up for one of the biggest matches of his career, and may be quietly confident that his recent form could see him muscle his way into Clarence Seedorf's Cameroon squad.

Kom hasn't had things all his own way since bursting onto the scene with local side Panthére du Ndé, but has bounced back impressively since...
