Diego Maradona takes charge of Belarus club Dynamo Brest

Sebi Salazar joins Get Up! to try to make sense of Diego Maradona's criticism of American referee Mark Geiger and his decisions in England's win over Colombia.

Argentina great Diego Maradona took over as chairman of Belarus club Dynamo Brest on Monday after signing a three-year contract and said he hoped the country's strongman President Alexander Lukashenko would become a fan.

Maradona has caused a sensation in Belarus by agreeing to take charge of a club that was rescued from bankruptcy two years ago. He plans to move to Brest after parting company with Al-Fujairah FC, where he was coach of the United Arab Emirates club.

Antoine Griezmann scored one and made another as France secured World Cup qualification with a narrow 2-1 victory over Belarus in Paris.

Les Bleus went into the game needing victory to guarantee their place in Russia next summer and they quickly took control as Atletico Madrid forward Griezmann slotted in the 27th-minute opener before teeing up strike partner Olivier Giroud for the second soon after.

Anton Saroka halved the deficit just before the break but Belarus were unable to spoil the party...

The triumph came after Milovan Rajevac's side had defeated North Korea 3-0 in Friday's semifinal.

The Serbian took over from Kiatisuk Senamuang in May and has secured some impressive results, despite the absence of several key players.

They held United Arab...

Spain defeat France with help of video replay while Italy beat Netherlands

The video assistant referee twice played an important role as Spain beat France 2-0 in a friendly in Paris on Tuesday.

FIFA is testing VARs ahead of their possible use at the World Cup, and the system ruled out a goal that had been given for France, and later overruled a linesman to grant Spain a goal.

Antoine Griezmann thought he had put France ahead in the second half, but after the goal was originally given, the VAR called down to the match referee and disallowed the goal for offside...

Netherlands in danger after loss as Ronaldo lifts Portugal, France win

Netherlands are in danger of failing to qualify for a second straight major tournament after losing 2-0 to Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday.

After finishing third at the 2014 World Cup, the Dutch missed out on Euro 2016 and now find themselves in fourth place midway through their campaign to reach Russia, six points off the lead in Group A and three back of a potential playoff spot.

Danny Blind handed a first cap to 17-year-old Matthijs de Ligt, but the centre-back misplayed a...
