Ajax interested in Mexico and Chivas forward Rodolfo Pizarro

Mexican legend Rafa Marquez sits down with ESPN to discuss his lengthy career and the possibility of playing in a fifth World Cup before retiring.

Dutch giants Ajax are interested in Mexico and Chivas forward Rodolfo Pizarro, according to ESPN Mexico, with the player admitting last week that he has a number of teams in Europe chasing him.

"There are a lot of teams interested, above all in Europe, and I'm analyzing what I'm going to do, what's best and where I will be happy," Pizarro, 24, told reporters in Guadalajara.

Pizarro signed for Chivas from Pachuca in December 2016 for a transfer fee reported to be upwards of $15 million, which was reportedly the highest transfer fee in the history of Mexico's first division.

Pizarro has also been linked to PSV, Monterrey and Twente.

Pizarro isn't the only Mexican with interest from the Netherlands. Pachuca's Erick Gutierrez is also being tracked by Ajax, ESPN Mexico reports. A report in Record linked left-footed midfielder Gutierrez with a move to Chivas, who will play in the Club World Cup in December. And PSV has also been mentioned.

Both Pizarro and Gutierrez face nervous waits to find out if they are in Mexico's preliminary World Cup squad, with coach Juan Carlos Osorio set to name a 27-player list this weekend.
