Sergio Aguero: Tottenham's Harry Kane could succeed at Real Madrid

The FC crew react to Tottenham's win in tough conditions at Swansea and what failing to finish top four would mean for Spurs.
Mauricio Pochettino says Fernando Llorente's goal against Swansea City is an example of the luck needed to win a football match.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero says that Tottenham's Harry Kane would have no problems fitting in at Real Madrid because of his "world-class quality."

Kane's 56 goals in 2017, more than either Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi managed, has seen him linked with a move to Madrid and a Marca poll of Blancos fans named him as their preferred big name signing for next summer.

Although Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has said the 24-year-old is not on the market, both Marca and AS have continued to claim he is a target for Madrid president Florentino Perez, although the assumed tough negotiating stance of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and the difficulties British players can have settling in Spain are both factors reportedly being considered.

Former Atletico Madrid striker Aguero, who came close to joining Real back in 2011, told "El Larguero" that Kane's exploits in the Premier League showed he had the ability to fit in even at the Bernabeu.

"Players of his quality should not have any problem at a team as big as Real Madrid," Aguero said. "I cannot know what he thinks, but he is an important No. 9 in the world, and above all in the Premier League, so he shouldn't have any problems. But it is not for me to give an opinion, it is up to him."

After his back-to-back hat tricks against Burnley and Southampton over Christmas took him past Messi and Ronaldo for goals scored that calendar year, Kane himself said he "obviously had a long way to go" to match the pair's long-term consistency but said he would continue to "do everything I can to improve."
