Almost every day, another Lion seems to leave Singapore.

Another seasoned pro swaps the S.League's age quotas for the greater flexibility of a foreign league. Another household name heads elsewhere.

Tampines Rovers suffered heartbreak once again in the AFC Champions League (ACL) preliminary round as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat away to Indonesia's Bali United on Tuesday night.

Fadil Sausu's spectacular opener gave the hosts the lead, but Shannon Stephen levelled the score for the Stags against the run of play late in the first half.

However, Bali won with second-half goals from Ilija Spasojevic and substitute Hanis Saghara Putra, as Tampines suffered their fourth defeat at this stage of the...

Amri to use Indonesia experience to guide Tampines in ACL playoff

Jason Dasey and Dez Corkhill discuss Tampines Rovers FC's trip to Bali United on January 16th for their AFC Champions League playoff.

Tampines Rovers striker Khairul Amri is looking forward to a return to Indonesia as he aims to help the Stags overcome Bali United in the 2018 AFC Champions League (ACL) Preliminary Round on Tuesday.

One of a number of Singaporeans who moved to Indonesia eight years ago, Amri was a fans' favourite at Persiba Balikpapan and scored nine goals for the club in the 2010-11 season before being released due to injury.

The 32-year-old, who also scored nine goals in 2017, has kept in touch with football...

Having failed to achieve the management's targets last year, coach Philippe Aw is eyeing better fortunes in his second season in charge of Hougang United in the 2018 S.League season.

Aw aimed to win at least one trophy in 2017, but came up empty-handed, while finishing sixth out of nine teams, despite some promising moments.

"We had an up-and-down year with players missing at times. I feel that it's difficult to go for glory in the first season," he told ESPN FC.

"You need a lot of things to work....

As a dismal 2017 for Singapore football draws to a close, John Wilkinson joins Jason Dasey to reveal his hopes for 2018.

Singapore international Gabriel Quak is keen to repay Warriors FC's trust by restoring them back to the top of the S.League for the 2018 season.

The 27-year-old was on the radar of the uniformed outfit after ending his four-year spell with LionsXII in 2015, but opted to join Geylang International the following year.

The fleet-footed winger scored seven goals for the Eagles over the last two seasons before finally arriving in the Warriors' den.

"Warriors has been interested in me for the last two...
