James Troisi celebrates scoring for Melbourne Victory.
James Troisi has finally sorted out his future, penning a new two-year deal with Melbourne Victory.

Socceroos midfielder James Troisi insists Melbourne Victory was always his preferred home after signing on with the A-League runner-ups.

The 29-year-old had been strongly linked with a move to crosstown rivals Melbourne City, with reports suggesting he underwent a medical with City on Monday.

But the Victory on Thursday confirmed Troisi would be part of the club's title push after signing a new two-year deal.

"Obviously, I had a fantastic season ... there's always going to be a lot of interest,"...

Melbourne City close in on James Troisi, sign Stefan Mauk

Melbourne City have signed midfielder Stefan Mauk but are playing a waiting game on Socceroo James Troisi as the A-League club look to build a squad to challenge for the title.

That push might not include Anthony Caceres, however, who is reportedly hoping to move to the United Arab Emirates.

Mauk, 21, after leaving City in January last year following 47 appearances, has returned on a one-year loan deal from NEC in the Netherlands.

The bright midfielder was swapped for Adelaide United utility Osama...

Dinamo Moscow and Antalyaspor are planning late moves for Australia international James Troisi, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Troisi, 29, is currently in talks with Israeli side Maccabi Haifa, but Dinamo Moscow and Antayalspor are looking to hijack a possible move.

The midfielder is a free agent after leaving Melboune Victory at the end of last season and is weighing up a return to Europe.

Milos Ninkovic leads list of contenders for A-League Player of the Year

Milos Ninkovic's biggest barrier to claiming the Johnny Warren Medal could be his A-League premiership-winning teammates.

The Serbian is a deserved favourite to win the award for the A-League's best performed player at the Dolan Warren Awards ceremony in Sydney on Monday night.

Sydney's No. 10 has been a sight to see this season, scoring nine goals and laying off 10, displaying equal parts ruthlessness and grace in the Sky Blues midfield.

But in a team full of match-winners, he's no guarantee to...

Victory future 'might not be possible' without marquee contract - Troisi

James Troisi celebrates scoring for Melbourne Victory.
James Troisi's excellent season with the Victory has lifted the midfielder back into Soccroos contention.

James Troisi is hopeful a marquee contract offer from Melbourne Victory is forthcoming because he doesn't want to make another "gamble" in his on-again, off-again career.

The 28-year-old is back in the Socceroos fold for the first time since the 2015 Asian Cup final and in contention to replace the injured Tom Rogic in midfield for Thursday's crucial World Cup qualifier against Iraq.

He is also keeping a close eye on matters back home following the sale of Oliver Bozanic to J-League club Ventforet...

Melbourne Victory's James Troisi set for Socceroos recall

Two years after his Asian Cup heroics, James Troisi is set to earn a Socceroos recall for this month's vital World Cup qualifiers.

Troisi hasn't featured for the Socceroos since November 2015 but has made a compelling case as a bolter in coach Ange Postecoglou's extended 30-man squad, to be named on Wednesday for the upcoming clashes against Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

After enduring a rough stint overseas and a broken collarbone on his return to the A-League, the 28-year-old has rediscovered...
