Aston Villa tweet 'Where's Waldo?'-like image to announce Snodgrass signing

Transfers are being unveiled in a better fashion, Maradona receives a Russian hockey jersey and much more in The Sweeper.

Having already used a fake Whatsapp conversation to herald John Terry's arrival this summer, Aston Villa have once again found an entertaining new way to announce a signing to their fans on social media.

Indeed, the Championship club broke the news that Robert Snodgrass has been signed on a season-long loan from West Ham with a playful little "Where's Waldo?"-style animation.

Perhaps not the wackiest entry in the "intricate player unveilings" canon that seems to have gathered momentum over...

Robert Snodgrass wants to help Aston Villa back to the Premier League.

Aston Villa have signed West Ham United midfielder Robert Snodgrass on a season-long loan deal.

Scotland international Snodgrass, who joined the Hammers from Hull in January, was told by manager Slaven Bilic that he could move on either permanently or on loan, with Sunderland also interested in signing him.

But Villa have secured a deal for the 29-year-old which gives them an option to buy him at the end of the season.

Andy Carroll a rare bright spot as West Ham squander first-half lead at Hull

West Ham slumped to their fourth consecutive defeat as they gave away a goal lead to lose 2-1 to Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.

The Hammers were comfortably ahead thanks to an Andy Carroll goal at half-time, but Hull boss Marco Silva made a tactical switch at the break and Slaven Bilic's men failed to cope. Moving to 4-2-4 meant Hull dominated the second period and the home side deservedly won the game thanks to an 85th minute Andrea Ranocchia header. The hosts had equalised with Andrew...

West Ham's warm-weather trip to Dubai was 'worse than Scotland'

Robert Snodgrass felt right at home on West Ham's recent trip to Dubai -- because the weather was as bad as in his native Glasgow.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic took advantage of a fixture-free weekend last month to jet off with his squad to seek out some sunshine.

But winger Snodgrass, a £10.2 million January signing from Hull, revealed the so-called warm-weather training was a washout due to the constant rain.

"To be honest with you, the weather was worse than Scotland," he said. "It was raining...

Warrant issued for West Ham's Robert Snodgrass after missed court date

Robert Snodgrass moved from Hull City to West Ham in January.

A warrant was issued for Robert Snodgrass on Thursday after the West Ham striker missed a court appearance in Glasgow.

The Scotland international was charged after allegedly driving a car while a passenger held a baby last April with no room for a child's seat.

Asked about his client's absence, Snodgrass' lawyer Martin Black said he did not believe he had to be in attendance, the BBC reported.

The Crown then requested a warrant for Snodgrass' arrest, which was granted.

West Ham seal £10.2 million move for Hull City's Robert Snodgrass

West Ham have announced the £10.2 million signing of Hull forward Robert Snodgrass, on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

Hull also accepted a similar offer from Burnley for the Scotland international, while Middlesbrough were also reported to have made a formal bid, but Snodgrass signed with the Hammers.

The 29-year-old has been relegation-threatened Hull's outstanding player this season, scoring nine goals in all competitions.

Snodgrass could now make his West Ham debut in Wednesday's home...
