Concerns remain for Spurs

Serge Aurier's missteps continue as Tottenham stumble to draw at Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion come up with a valuable point in the relegation battle at the expense of Tottenham.

Mauricio Pochettino prioritised Tottenham's bid for FA Cup glory at Brighton on Tuesday night, making six changes to his side. The result is that Spurs still have work to do in their bid to secure a third successive top-four finish, after this 1-1 draw at the Amex Stadium.

Harry Kane put Spurs ahead shortly after half-time, but Brighton equalised just two minutes later as Pascal Gross scored from the penalty spot.

A frustrating evening will be quickly forgotten if Tottenham win Saturday's...

Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane spark dramatic comeback at Juventus

This was Tottenham's first Champions League knockout tie since their 2010-11 quarterfinal against Real Madrid -- a duel that was over before it really began. History seemed to be repeating itself in Turin on Tuesday.

Seven years ago, Harry Redknapp's side found themselves a goal down with 10 men after 15 minutes at the Bernabeu. They eventually lost 4-0 on the night and 5-0 on aggregate.

Serge Aurier says he helped persuade Lucas Moura to join Tottenham

Get a quick recap of the biggest spenders in the Premier League during the January transfer window.

LONDON -- Serge Aurier claims he persuaded Lucas Moura to join Tottenham ahead of other clubs and says the Brazilian has moved to London to have fun again.

Lucas completed a £24.5 million move to Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday and, shortly afterwards, he was introduced to a record Premier League crowd of 81,987 at half-time of their 2-0 win against Manchester United at Wembley.

Aurier, who made the same move in the summer, spent two years with Lucas in Paris, where the pair were...

Weary Vertonghen, Aurier bolster Tottenham in lopsided West Ham draw

Pedro Obiang and Son Heung-Min swapped wonder strikes in the second half as West Ham held Tottenham to a 1-1 draw at Wembley.

There were mixed feelings for Tottenham as the final whistle went and this London derby against West Ham ended 1-1, after Pedro Obiang and Son Heung-Min had exchanged long-range rockets inside the final 20 minutes. On the one hand Spurs, who somehow found themselves behind, had avoided the apocalyptic scenario of a second successive home defeat against their London rivals, who had eliminated them from the League Cup in October.

On the other hand, a tie still felt like scant reward after a match...

Son Heung-min and Harry Kane strike as several Spurs get high marks

Given Tottenham failed to qualify from a seemingly easier Champions League group last season, they looked to be up against it after being placed alongside Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund this time.

Yet they have made remarkably light work of that challenge, not only reaching the knockout stages but securing the top spot with a game to spare.

Spurs needed to match Madrid's result on Tuesday to claim first place, and they faced an uphill challenge at half-time, trailing 1-0 to Dortmund in Germany...

Picking an African dream team of World Cup absentees

Africa's World Cup representatives will all head to Russia confident that they can make an impact, but while several of the continent's top names will be part of the tournament, many have been left behind.

The quintet who have secured their spots at the global high table - Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal - may be among the continent's strongest teams and best organised units, but they boast relatively few of Africa's genuine superstars.

Indeed, only a third of the players named in CAF's...
