Jose Mourinho: David De Gea will be offered new Manchester United deal

The guys respond to your tweets about Alexis Sanchez, Real Madrid's transfer window and Colombia's chances of success at the World Cup.
ESPN FC's Mark Donaldson and Stevie Nicol tackle the latest rumours in Transfer Talk, which include a few key names that may head to Manchester United.

MANCHESTER -- Jose Mourinho has suggested that Manchester United are ready to offer David De Gea a new contract that could keep him at the club for the rest of his career.

De Gea has a deal until 2019, with United holding an option to extend it for another season.

The goalkeeper ran his last contract down to within 12 months of expiring, almost leading to a move to Real Madrid in 2015.

Mourinho said De Gea would stay at Old Trafford until at least 2020 but also suggested the club were ready to offer...

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 'Undercover racism' has cost me credit in Sweden

Mark Ogden discusses Man Utd's attacking options and explains how Antoine Griezmann would be a great lift for the club if they were to sign him.
The tension simmering between Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte the past few seasons finally came to a head in 2018.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed he has not had the credit he deserves from the Swedish media because his name "is not Andersson or Svensson."

Manchester United striker Ibrahimovic won 116 caps for Sweden and has lifted league titles in four different countries.

But the 37-year-old said "undercover racism" meant he had not received proper acknowledgement because he does not have a traditional Swedish surname.

He told Canal+: "What does the Swedish media do? They defend me or do they jump on and attack...

Andrea Pirlo won the World Cup, Champions League and Serie A during his playing career.

Andrea Pirlo has revealed how he turned down the chance to join Barcelona in 2010 because he was enjoying himself too much at AC Milan.

Pirlo, who recently announced his retirement from professional football after two years with New York City FC in Major League Soccer, joined Juventus in 2011 and won three Serie A titles with the Bianconeri, to add to the two he won at Milan.

However, he missed out on winning a third Champions League title because he did not end up being a makeweight in the move...

Beram Kayal: Zlatan Ibrahimovic inspired me to bounce back from injury

Brighton's Australian keeper Mathew Ryan revealed it didn't take him long to learn about the hatred between Crystal Palace and the Seagulls.

Brighton midfielder Beram Kayal has credited the inspirational example set by Zlatan Ibrahimovic with helping him bounce back from serious injury.

Manchester United forward Ibrahimovic suffered career-threatening knee ligament damage in April, cutting short his 2016-17 season and raising question marks about his Old Trafford future.

Despite the severe setback, the 36-year-old former Sweden international remained upbeat and regularly chronicled his recovery on social media, before returning to Premier...

Man United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic out for one month - Jose Mourinho

Manchester United were forced to split the points after finishing in a scoreless deadlock with Southampton.
Following Jose Mourinho's claims that United need to spend more, Mark Ogden agrees that more money needs to be spent before they can compete.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has said Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be out for one month with a "recurrence" of his knee injury.

Ibrahimovic was not included in the squad for United's 0-0 draw at home to Southampton on Saturday and Mourinho told the BBC after the game that the 36-year-old striker, who missed seven months before returning to action in November, is set for another spell on the sidelines.

"It's the same knee, it's the knee with an incredible problem," he said. "A [36]-year-old...

1. Bale, Modric, Ronaldo dumbstruck by lack of trophy

It seems a long time ago now but Real Madrid sealed the 2016-17 La Liga title on the very last day of the season, winning against Malaga to pip rivals Barcelona to the summit by three points.

Of course, securing a first championship in five years sparked delirious celebrations on the pitch at La Rosaleda, right up until the moment the Real players realised they had no trophy to actually celebrate with.

Spanish television...
