John Terry has made something of a habit of turning up in the most unexpected places over the years.

Indeed, having politely rejected a move to Spartak Moscow over Instagram just a week or two ago, Terry showed up out of the blue to watch the Russian side in action against Rostov on Sunday.

The ex-Chelsea captain was seen mingling with Spartak fans outside the Otkrytiye Arena before kick-off.

For the record, Spartak went on to lose 1-0 in front of their home crowd, many of whom were perhaps left...

Spartak Moscow left two players out of their squad for a Europa League game against Rapid Vienna amid a dispute over a video posted on Instagram that insults their coach.

Captain Denis Glushakov and defender Andrei Yeshchenko will not travel for the game on Thursday after they both were accused of liking a video posted by actor Dmitry Nazarov in which he mocks coach Massimo Carrera.

Reciting a poem, Nazarov said in the video that Carrera "isn't our happiness" and wondered, "How many disgraces do...

John Terry turns down move to Spartak Moscow

Chelsea legend John Terry has turned down the chance to join Spartak Moscow on a one-year contract after holding talks with the club and with his family.

Terry pulled out of a charity match he was scheduled to participate in on Saturday in order to fly to Rome to undergo a medical and finalise the details of the move to Russia, but has changed his mind.

In a statement posted on his official Instagram account, Terry cited his family as a significant factor in his final decision not to accept the...

Former Chelsea and England captain John Terry is in talks with Spartak Moscow over a shock move to Russia, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Terry is a free agent after leaving Aston Villa in the summer and a number of clubs have shown an interest in the experienced defender.

Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon were keen to bring in Terry, while Aston Villa have also been credited with a move to bring him back to Villa Park following his successful spell at the Championship club last season.

Sevilla announce signing of Quincy Promes from Spartak Moscow

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop gives his take as to which big name players could still be on the move, but will Kylian Mbappe join Real Madrid?

Dutch winger Quincy Promes has left Spartak Moscow to join Sevilla on a five-year contract, the clubs announced on Friday.

The 26-year-old, who joined Spartak from FC Twente in 2014, helped the side to their first Russian Premier League title in 16 years in 2017. He scored 66 goals in 135 matches during his spell with the club and has previously been linked with transfers to Liverpool and Southampton.

"It's time for a new chapter in my journey," Promes wrote on Twitter.
