Major League Soccer: David Accam (80') Chicago Fire 2-1 New England Revolution
Major League Soccer: David Accam (57') Chicago Fire 2-0 Colorado Rapids

PHILADELPHIA -- The Chicago Fire have traded David Accam to the Philadelphia Union in a major trade, the league confirmed at the MLS SuperDraft on Friday.

As first reported by ESPN FC, the Fire will receive $1.2 million in allocation money -- $300,000 in general and $900,000 in targeted allocation funds -- making the deal among the most expensive between MLS clubs.

The allocation money used is higher than the initial sums in trades that sent Darlington Nagbe to Atlanta and Dom Dwyer to Orlando, but...

LAFC picks Akron's Joao Moutinho with top pick in MLS SuperDraft

Former Akron University star Joao Moutinho says he's ecstatic about playing for Bob Bradley after being selected No. 1 overall by LAFC in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.
Bob Bradley discusses what it's been like putting a team together from scratch for the second time in MLS as LAFC continue preparing for their inaugural season.

LAFC selected a pair of full-backs with two of the first three picks in Friday's MLS SuperDraft for college players, starting with Akron's Joao Moutinho with the top selection.

Moutinho, who turned 20 last week, is primarily a left-back but can play in both defense and midfield. The Portugal native scored three goals with five...

Philadelphia Union confirm Jim Curtin will return as manager in 2018

Three players scored twice for Philadelphia in a rout of Orlando City to send the Union into the offseason on a high.

Sporting director Earnie Stewart confirmed the return of Jim Curtin as Philadelphia Union manager for the 2018 season, but the team declined its option on former United States midfielder Maurice Edu.

Curtin, 38, led the Union to the playoffs in the 2016 season, but this year's campaign did not go so well. After going winless in its first eight matches, Curtin got the Union back on track and had an outside shot of reaching the postseason before finishing eighth in the Eastern Conference.

The victory marks San Jose's first time reaching the playoffs since 2012, and it was Danny Hoesen who opened the scoring for the home side.

Jerome Thiesson worked an equalizer in the 36th minute but Chris Wondolowski poked home from close range in the 55th minute.

Francisco Calvo's headed goal in the 81st minute looked to have...

Brian Carroll will retire after Sunday's game.

Philadelphia Union midfielder Brian Carroll announced his retirement on Thursday after 15 years in Major League Soccer.
