W-League champions Patrick Kisnorbo, Jess Fishlock yet to decide City futures

Melbourne City's Jess Fishlock netted a first-half goal before assisting Jodie Taylor in the second-half to secure their third W-League title in a row.

Melbourne City's planning for a historic fourth W-League crown will start this week -- but the coach and the club's biggest star don't know whether they'll be part of it.

After winning a third-straight championship on Sunday with a 2-0 Grand Final win over Sydney FC, there's doubt over the future of coach Patrick Kisnorbo and Jess Fishlock, judged best afield in the decider.

Kisnorbo, who steered the side to last year's title, is on staff with City but splits his attention between the A-League and...

Melbourne City claim historic third W-League title

Melbourne City's Jess Fishlock netted a first-half goal before assisting Jodie Taylor in the second-half to secure their third W-League title in a row.

Melbourne City have clinched a historic W-League three-peat with a 2-0 triumph over Sydney FC.

Jess Fishlock was the difference between the grand finalists on Sunday, netting a first-half screamer and then a dazzling second-half free kick to set up Jodie Taylor in front of a record crowd of 6,025 at Allianz Stadium.

It is the second-straight season City have come from a fourth-placed finish to clinch the main prize following their 2016 whitewash in the club's debut campaign.

Fornaroli makes emotional Melbourne City return after six-month injury layoff

After 166 days out of action, Melbourne City striker Bruno Fornaroli admits he was close to tears when the time finally came to return to the A-League.

Fornaroli was the chief bright spot for City on Saturday night given the club's 4-0 humbling by Sydney FC.

The Uruguayan played the final half hour of the match after more than five months out with an ankle injury.

He looked a shadow of the striker who has scored 40 goals in his first two A-League seasons, but City's captain was delighted to just...

Sydney FC passed their latest A-League test with flying colours, destroying Melbourne City 4-0 as they cruise towards defending their title.

Bobo's double and volleys from Milos Ninkovic and Adrian Mierzejewski sealed another emphatic win for the Sky Blues, humbling their third-placed opponents on their own turf. The defeat was City's worst at home in eight seasons.

Graham Arnold's side meanwhile move ahead of their record-pulverising efforts of last season. At this stage last campaign they had...
