Patrice Evra vows to return stronger than ever after Marseille sacking

Shaka Hislop says Patrice Evra's lengthy seven month ban is warranted, but understands the frustrations he faced.
Marseille players were involved in ugly scenes with fans ahead of their Europa League match with Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal.

Patrice Evra has vowed to "come back stronger [than] ever" after he was banned, fined and sacked for kicking a fan ahead of Marseille's Europa League tie at Guimaraes earlier this month.

The incident earned Evra, 36, a ban from European club competition until June 30, 2018, and a €10,000 fine.

Since his ban only applies to UEFA club competitions, Evra could still play in a domestic league, and the former Manchester United man said in a video post on his Instagram page that he remained positive...

Marseille include recently departed Patrice Evra in squad photo

We've all got embarrassing photos of former partners on our phones that might foolishly slip out in front of the new love in our lives.

It's easily done, but Marseille have gone one step further and unashamedly deliberately published one of theirs featuring an 'ex.'

The French club parted ways with Patrice Evra on Friday following the France international's kick aimed at a fan ahead of Marseille's recent Europa League game at Guimaraes.

Patrice Evra's Marseille contract terminated after UEFA season ban

Shaka Hislop says Patrice Evra's lengthy seven month ban is warranted, but understands the frustrations he faced.

Marseille boss Rudi Garcia criticises Patrice Evra for lashing out at a supporter before their UEL clash at Guimaraes.

Patrice Evra has had his contract with Marseille terminated after UEFA suspended him from all European club competition until June 30, 2018, for aiming a kick at a fan ahead of a Europa League game.

Video footage showed the 36-year-old aiming the kick at the Marseille fan as visiting players and supporters confronted each other at the side of the pitch before the tie at Guimaraes on Nov. 2. He was then ushered away by a teammate.

Marseille had initially suspended the player indefinitely, but shortly...

Marcel Desailly 'wouldn't like to see' Patrice Evra's career end like this

Marseille players were involved in ugly scenes with fans ahead of their Europa League match with Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal.
Marseille boss Rudi Garcia criticises Patrice Evra for lashing out at a supporter before their UEL clash at Guimaraes.

Marcel Desailly would be "sad" to see Patrice Evra's career end on the kick he aimed at a Marseille fan ahead of his club's Europa League game last week.

Evra, 36, was shown a red card during the warm-up after aiming a kick at a Marseille fan before OM's 1-0 group stage defeat at Guimaraes on Thursday.

Suspended by his club, Evra will be the subject of a club and UEFA investigation into the incident, which it is feared could lead to a lengthy ban based on the jurisprudence of Eric Cantona's eight-month...
