Ryan Upward's early goal ensured Maidenhead will finish in the top half of the Vanarama National League table ahead of Leyton Orient.

Orient, who are 13th, cannot leapfrog the Magpies having been beaten 1-0 thanks to a winner from Upward, who was then sent off late on.

Upward was quickest to react from a corner to put the visitors ahead in only the fifth minute.

He was then dismissed in second-half stoppage time by reacting furiously to a free-kick decision.

Sutton's automatic play-off semi-final hopes suffered a blow as their winless run was stretched to five games with a 2-1 defeat at Maidenhead.

The hosts went ahead after 24 minutes when Harry Pritchard collected the ball 25 yards out and rifled a shot into the top corner of the net.

And just eight minutes later they doubled their advantage when a deep corner found its way to Jake Goodman and he planted a header home from six yards.

Adrian Clifton had a goal ruled out for offside before the Magpies were...

Maidenhead eased any remaining relegation fears with a last-gasp 2-1 win over Woking, who are now just one point above the drop zone.

The Magpies had the first chance of the game as Harry Pritchard squared the ball to Sean Marks but his shot flew inches wide.

Moses Emmanuel was not too far away with a lobbed attempt from 20 yards, while at the other end, Regan Charles-Cook sliced over the crossbar from a good position.

Pritchard was denied before the break and the same player came close again early...

Nicke Kabamba netted an 89th-minute winner as Aldershot climbed into third place in the National League with a 1-0 home victory over Maidenhead.

The on-loan Portsmouth striker produced a fine diving header past Carl Pentney at the far post following Callum Reynold's cross.

Before that Aldershot had dominated with Pentney making several fine saves to keep Maidenhead, now without a win in six games, on level terms.

First he tipped a close-range Scott Rendell header over the bar and then made a flying...

Hartlepool boosted their survival hopes as a 2-1 victory at Maidstone stretched their unbeaten run to five games.

Manager Matthew Bates named an unchanged side from the one which earned a 2-1 victory against Bromley and it paid off, Michael Woods opening the scoring by capitalising on a parry from goalkeeper Lee Worgan in the 25th minute.

Maidstone responded well, visiting keeper Scott Loach having to work hard to palm a strong Stuart Lewis drive over the bar.

But it was Hartlepool who doubled their...
