LAFC has acquired midfielder Eduard Atuesta on loan from Colombian side Independiente Medellin, the new MLS club announced on Tuesday.

Independiente announced earlier on Tuesday that Atuesta had signed with MLS without specifying which team, and LAFC then confirmed they had signed the midfielder using targeted allocation money.

However, it seems unlikely that the 20-year-old will arrive in time for this weekend's inaugural fixture against the Seattle Sounders.

LA PAZ, Bolivia -- A Bolivian fan was killed in a knife attack after he was apparently caught up in a brawl between rival Colombian hooligans groups.

Police in Bolivia on said Tuesday that 35-year-old Nicolas Rojas died in a knife attack in the city of Cochabamba. Police say the victim was gathered in a bus terminal with supporters of Colombian club Independiente Medellin when this group confronted followers of rival Colombian club Deportivo Cali.
