Dynamo's DaMarcus Beasley to miss 4 to 6 weeks after knee surgery

Memo Rodriguez scored twice to help the Houston Dynamo see out a back-and-forth 3-2 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Houston Dynamo defender DaMarcus Beasley underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday, the team announced.

The 36-year-old Beasley is expected to miss four to six weeks.

Beasley revealed in an Instagram post that the surgery was performed in Los Angeles.

Beasley is in his sixth season with the Dynamo and has three goals and four assists in 112 matches.

Overall, Beasley has 17 goals and 24 assists in 210 MLS matches (198 starts) in 11 seasons. He played for the Chicago Fire from 2000-04.

Memo Rodriguez scored twice for the first time in his pro career as the Houston Dynamo continued their bright start to the season despite giving back their lead twice in a 3-2 victory over the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.
