Goalkeeper Jonny Maxted was the Guiseley hero as the 10-man non-leaguers secured an FA Cup second-round trip to Mansfield after winning the penalty shoot-out 4-3.

Maxted saved two spot-kicks after the replay finished 1-1 after extra-time as the National League side reached the second round for the first time in their history.

Cameroon striker Mike Fondop scored the winning penalty while Billy Kee and Scott Brown had their efforts saved for Stanley.

In an entertaining first half, Stanley hit the woodwork...

Non-league Woking, Guiseley force FA Cup replays vs. Bury, Accrington

Woking earned an FA Cup first-round replay against managerless Bury after Jamie Philpot's header secured a 1-1 draw.

Millwall loanee Philpot's first-half header for the National League side keeps them in the hat for the second round.

League One outfit Bury, who sacked former boss Lee Clark last month, went ahead after just 42 seconds through Michael Smith but could not hang on at the Kingfield Stadium.

League Two side Accrington were also forced into a replay after a 0-0 draw at National League...

Guiseley and Accrington Stanley will have do it all again after their FA Cup first round encounter at Nethermoor Park ended in a 0-0 draw.

The best chances fell to the National League side on a day where goalkeepers were on top.

Accrington's Aaron Chapman denied Kayode Odejayi with a fingertip save just 20 minutes into the match, before somehow clawing away Jake Lawlor's header soon after.

Accrington's best chance came within the first two minutes when Kayden Jackson somehow fired over the bar from...

Guiseley's fight to secure their safety in the National League will go down to the wire after a 1-1 draw with Bromley.

Bromley took the lead early on as Bradley Goldberg's right-footed effort flew past Jonny Maxted in goal.

Guiseley were given a glimmer of hope when Jordan Preston cut in from the left and fired into the bottom right corner to draw level.

Bromley pushed for a winner and Toby Sho-Silva saw his chip agonisingly come back off the post. Guiseley now go into the last game of the season just...

Braintree boss left to decry 'worst thing in football' after Guiseley goal

Braintree manager Dan Cowley was left fuming over "the worst thing in football" following Saturday's feisty National League encounter with Guiseley AFC.

The match eventually finished 1-1 but only after an attempt at observing standard fair play etiquette went awry to give Guiseley their goal.

Following an injury to a Braintree player, Guiseley midfielder Ollie Norburn attempted to return possession by launching the ball down field. Unfortunately, Norburn proceeded to blast his pass high over the...
