Shanghai Shenhua's Zhu Jianrong
Shanghai Shenhua's Zhu Jianrong scored the first goal in a draw against Guangzhou Evergrande.

Shanghai SIPG opened up a five-point gap at the top of the Chinese Super League table on Friday as they handed Hebei China Fortune a 2-0 defeat .

SIPG racked up a league-record sixth straight win to maintain their perfect start to the campaign with Hulk and Wu Lei finding the back of the net for last year's runners-up against Hebei.

But it was Yan Junling who earned the praise of coach Vitor Pereira for denying Ezequiel Lavezzi 11 minutes before half-time, when the goalkeeper kept out a spot kick...

Alan Carvalho's ban rules him out until July 21.

The Chinese Football Association has banned Guangzhou Evergrande striker Alan Carvalho for eight games after he was sent off for elbowing Tianjin Quanjian's Liu Yiming last month.

Carvalho will be ruled out until July 21, when Evergrande face Chinese Super League leaders Shanghai SIPG when the league resumes following a two-month break for the World Cup.

The 28-year-old, who has scored six times in four league games, has already served one game of the ban, missing Sunday's win over Shandong Luneng.

Wang Shenchao, Elkeson strike as Shanghai SIPG remain perfect in CSL

Vitor Pereira's Shanghai SIPG claimed their fifth win in a row thanks to Wang Shenchao and Elkeson's strikes.

Wang Shenchao and Elkeson were on target as Shanghai SIPG continued their perfect start to the Chinese Super League campaign on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Henan JIanye that maintained their three point lead over defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande.

Wang gave SIPG the lead in the 36th minute and Elkeson doubled his side's advantage three minutes later but Ma Xingyu halved the deficit on the stroke of half time.

SIPG, however, held on to record a fifth straight win as Vitor Pereira's side continued...

Shanghai Shenhua out of Asian Champions League, Guangzhou still need point

Wu Jingui and Shanghai Shenhua suffered a frustrating night.

Shanghai Shenhua crashed out of the Asian Champions League on Tuesday, while Guangzhou Evergrande must wait another two weeks for a chance to confirm their place in the knockout rounds on a frustrating night for Chinese clubs.

Shenhua lost a two-goal lead as they drew 2-2 with Kashima Antlers, with the result meaning Wu Jingui's side cannot advance to the next phase.

Giovanni Moreno put Shenhua in front from the penalty spot in the 13th minute after Obafemi Martins had been fouled, and Mao Jianqing...

Shanghai SIPG win to maintain perfect start to 2018 Chinese Super League

Shanghai SIPG maintained their perfect start to the 2018 Chinese Super League campaign on Friday with a 2-1 win over Chongqing Lifan.

Wu Lei and Yu Hai scored after Yang Ke had given Chongqing the lead as SIPG picked up their fourth win in a row.

"It was a difficult game," said SIPG boss Vitor Pereira. "We could have scored more goals but after the return of the national team players we did not have the opportunity to work together.

"We didn't have the opportunity to practice technical issues. But...
