Barcelona will not bring in Arthur this summer - Gremio president

ESPN FC's Sid Lowe explains what's delaying Antoine Griezmann from making a decision on his future.
Toby Alderweireld to Man United? Jorginho to Man City? ESPN FC's Alejandro Moreno breaks down those rumours and more in Rumour Rater.

Barcelona-bound midfielder Arthur Melo will not leave before the Brazilian season ends in December, Gremio's president has insisted.

In March, Barca agreed a purchase option to acquire Arthur from Gremio this July in a deal which could cost up to €39 million.

Despite Barcelona's initial plans to let Arthur stay in Brazil until January 2019, recent reports have suggested the Catalans could attempt to bring him to Camp Nou this summer following Andres Iniesta's transfer to Vissel Kobe and...

Players from Brazilian club Corinthians donated money to Venezuelan hotel staffers ahead of their match with Deportivo Lara.

SAO PAULO -- Brazilian club Corinthians donated $3,000 to hotel staffers in Venezuela before their Copa Libertadores match because of the economic crisis in the country.

It was the second instance this week by a club from Brazil.

Corinthians shared a video on their social media channels showing players and directors handing envelopes to hotel staffers in Cabudare, 350 kilometres (220 miles) from the capital of Caracas. Club chairman Andres Sanchez said the donation was "small, but from the heart...

Gremio manager Renato Portaluppi's nonchalance belies a canny tactical mind

There is no doubt about the outstanding club performance of the week in South America; in the Copa Libertadores, reigning champions Gremio cruised to a 5-0 win over Cerro Porteno of Paraguay.

Most would probably have predicted a win for the Brazilians -- but not by such a big margin. The Paraguayans went into the game on a record in the competition of two wins and a draw, the latter a hard-fought 0-0 with Gremio in Asuncion two weeks earlier.

There were no freak circumstances, no early red cards...

Barcelona called to reassure me over transfer - Arthur

Thousands of Barcelona fans lined the streets in Catalonia on Monday to celebrate the club's 25th La Liga title and 30th Copa del Rey victory.
The ESPN FC crew explain why Barcelona's La Liga title triumph is especially significant, given their 'roller coaster of a season' so far.

Arthur Melo says Barcelona have phoned to reassure him his move to Camp Nou is still on after reports claimed they may pull out of the deal.

Barca reached an agreement with Gremio earlier this year on an option to sign the Brazilian midfielder for an initial fee of €30 million in July.

While Barca must decide whether or not to finalise the deal this summer, Arthur is unlikely to join the club until next January, following the completion of the domestic season in Brazil.

However, Mundo...

Borussia Dortmund tracking Gremio's Victor Bobsin - sources

Victor Bobsin
Victor Bobsin, 18, shone for Brazil at the 2017 Under-17 World Cup in India.

DORTMUND, Germany -- Borussia Dortmund are showing interest in Gremio's 18-year-old defensive midfielder Victor Bobsin, sources have told ESPN FC.

Bobsin, whose current deal ends in 2019, plays for the under-20s of the Porto Alegre-based side. He managed to gain the attention of European clubs last October during the Under-17 World Cup in India, where he was a starter in holding midfield in all seven games for Brazil.

The 1.85-metre tall youngster started out as a defender but has found his position...
