Ex-Premier League manager Steve Kean to leave Brunei DPMM

Former Premier League manager Steve Kean is on the lookout for a new challenge after agreeing to part ways with struggling S.League side Brunei DPMM, two years after making them Singapore champions.

Kean has been unable to maintain the success of this first three years at the club, having led them to a second-placed finish in 2014 and third place in 2016. Kean's side also lifted the 2014 League Cup by beating Tanjong Pagar in the final.

Malaysia survive Laos scare to top Group A in SEA Games football

A brace from Jafri Firdaus Chew and a deflected effort from Adib Zainuddin helped Malaysia confirm top spot in Group A of the Southeast (SEA) Asian Games after a 3-1 triumph over Laos on Wednesday night.

The 2011 champions overcame a nervous first half when they allowed Laos to equalise by completing a perfect record of four wins in four matches.

They had earlier taken care of Brunei and Singapore with 2-1 victories before strolling past their toughest opponents Myanmar 3-1 on Monday.
