Brighton sign South African striker Percy Tau

Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion have announced the signing of forward Percy Tau from South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Tau has signed a four-year deal with the south coast side, who confirmed him as their seventh capture of the transfer window on Friday. He will be sent out on loan to gain experience and acclimatise to Europe.

Sundowns owner steps in to end Tau saga 

Mamelodi Sundowns have cleared the path for striker Percy Tau to join English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion after owner Patrice Motsepe told team management to strike a deal.

Sundowns had been holding out for more than the R50-million, rising to R65-million with add-ons, that Brighton had put on the table last week as their final offer.

Brighton & Hove Albion have brought in Brazilian defender Bernardo from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig on a four-year deal, the Premier League club announced on Thursday.

Balogun is out of contract at Mainz this summer and Brighton look set to bring him to the Amex Stadium on a free transfer.
