Gerardo Martino: Nothing to say about Mexico, I'm still with Atlanta United

MLS commissioner Don Garber says Mexico's move to get Tata Martino as their head coach was a bold one.

Atlanta United boss Gerardo "Tata" Martino gave no definitive answer when asked on Friday about his reported link to the Mexico managerial job.

"I have nothing new to say about that," Martino said, according to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. "I did see what [MLS commissioner] Don Garber said yesterday. I'm still contractually linked to Atlanta United."

Speaking to reporters at the Soccerex conference in Miami on Thursday, Garber congratulated Mexico for their "aggressive move" for Martino.

Atlanta United manager Tata Martino was named Major League Soccer's Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

Martino, 55, won 32.72 percent of the overall vote, beating out LAFC's Bob Bradley, who received 22.34 percent. Sporting Kansas City's Peter Vermes finished third with 10.95 percent.
