Transfer Rater: Nadiem Amiri to Man United, Jann-Fiete Arp to Tottenham
Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.
Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.
Nadiem Amiri to Manchester United - 2.5
After catching the eye for Hoffenheim and Germany's Under-21 side, the Tottenham target has been linked with a £20 million move to Old Trafford. In 18 appearances, the midfielder has scored four times and added two assists for the Bundesliga club. If Jose Mourinho meets the asking price, Amiri, 21, could move to United in the upcoming window and provide competition for Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Jann-Fiete Arp to Tottenham Hotspur - 2.0
Previously thought to be a Chelsea target, reports in England suggest Tottenham and Everton have joined the list of clubs keeping track of the 17-year-old-forward who is out of contract in 2019. Arp has broken into the Hamburg first team, scoring twice in eight appearances, and is the first player born in 2000 to play and score in the Bundesliga. He has 15 goals in 17 games for Germany's U17 side and after Arp named Harry Kane as a role model, the Spurs could have the upper-hand in negotiations.
Scott McTominay to Leeds United - 1.9
Touted as a future Manchester United captain, McTominay could be loaned out in January as the next step in his development. Although yet to feature in the Premier League this season, he has appeared on the bench seven times under Mourinho. He played against Benfica in the Champions League and now Leeds United and five other clubs are vying for his services. A move from Rangers has already been rejected and the fitness of Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini could be a factor in where McTominay is come February.
Liam Moore to West Ham United - 1.8
David Moyes is apparently unhappy with his defensive options at the London Stadium and has prioritised the backline ahead of the January window. Reading's 24-year-old centre-back Moore has played 70 times for the Berkshire side and the West Ham boss had him watched in the recent 2-2 draw with promotion-chasers Cardiff on Monday. Moore has impressed since moving from Leicester City in August.
Gerard Deulofeu to Napoli - 1.6
After moving back to Barcelona in the summer, and despite the departure of Neymar and injury to Ousmane Dembele, Deulofeu has struggled for minutes at the Camp Nou. The Spaniard has played just nine times in La Liga and reports in Italy suggest he could be ready for a loan move to the Serie A club. He spent a successful spell at AC Milan last season and a return to Italy could offer him more time on the pitch.
